Day 1:  Red Lodge, Montana

Welcome to Red Lodge, the gateway to the magnificent Beartooth Mountains!  Fabulous shopping, restaruants, hiking, fly fishing and scenic drives.  A real western historic mountain town! Overnight in Red Lodge.

Day 2: Drive the Beartooths Pass!

Cooke City, Yellowstone Park

Lamar Valley  

After a hearty breakfast drive the engineering feat that is the Beartooth Highway over the pass to Wyoming!  Explore, hike and take in the breathtaking views up high!  Lunch at a charming restaurant in Cooke City or SIlver Gate followed by exploring the famous habitat of many wolf packs...The Lamar Valley.  Finish the day with the Rossevelt Old West Cookout on horseback or wagon ride!  Lodging in Gardiner.

Day 3: Mammoth Hot Springs

Norris Geyser Basin, Grand Canyon

Cody, Wyoming

After an early breakfast, the world famous Mammoth Hot Springs provide breathtaking views of some of the largest hot springs in the park. Then we head south to wander through Norris Geyser Basin, the hottest and most changeable thermal feature in Yellowstone.  Norris Geyser Basin is one of our favorite spots in the park!  Take the time to listen to the park ranger presentation near the entrance!  Loaded with information about the amazing thermal features of Yellowstone Park! Spend a lot of time or a little…it is up to you! 

 

Next we are on our way to the Yellowstone Grand Canyon!    The Grand Canyon is one of the most spectacular sights in the Park and is 20 miles long, up to 4000 feet wide and 1200 feet deep in some spots. The Lower Falls drop 308 feet and the Upper Falls drop 109 feet.   

 

We are just getting going!  On to the Hayden Valley, a favorite for animals sightings and the north shore of Yellowstone Lake where we head east to Cody, Wyoming, home of Buffalo Bill Cody! Estimated arrival in Cody, about 4 pm.  Check in to your hotel, relax, shower and be ready by 6 pm for dinner at a restaurant of your choice.  From fun local breweries, Mexican to fine Italian cuisine…Cody has it all! 

 

The Cody Stampede Rodeo!

After dinner we are off to the Cody Stampede Rodeo, which just happens to be across the street from The Cody Hotel!  It is the longest running and the only place that rodeos every night for 76 years!  A must see! 8:00 pm start!  Fabulous fun!

Day 4: Buffalo Bill Center of The West, Cody, Wyoming

Jackson Hole, Wyoming

We start the day with a fabulous home cooked breakfast at Our Place, next to The Cody Hotel.  Best breakfast in the west and worth the wait! Not to be missed is the Buffalo Bill Center of the West.  Words cannot describe this fabulous museum.  A full day if you want to spend another night in Cody, or a half-day to see the exhibits!

 

As you head west leaving Cody, you will marvel at the Buffalo Bill Damn!  An engineering feat!  Take the time to go inside and watch the film about how the damn was built! You are now back in YNP and heading to Jackson Hole, Wyoming! On the way as we travel along Yellowstone Lake, you can stop and take a ride on The Yellowstone Lake Boat!  

 

 

Grand Tetons

Enjoy the breathtaking views of Teton National Park as you make you way to Jackson Hole, Wyoming!  Check in to a hotel of your choice…the selection is plentiful. Then spiff yourselves up for a delicious dinner at a restaurant of your choice.  The Local is highly recommended!  Visit the Silver Dollar Bar in The Wort Hotel for music and country dancing or the famous Billion Dollar Cowboy Bar around the corner!

Day 5: Jackson Aerial Tram Ride, Tetons

Yellowstone National Park

Big Sky, Montana

Start your day with a delicious breakfast in downtown Jackson Hole!  The Silver Dollar has a fabulous breakfast!  Omelets are amazing! Take pictures of the antler arches in the Town Square and spend the morning hopping from shop to shop!  The shops are endless and fun! 

 

Next your driver will take you to Jackson Hole Ski Resort where you will ride the famous Jackson Aerial Tram, rising 4139 vertical feet to the summit of Rendevous Mountain. Enjoy hiking trails or visit Cobet’s Cabin for their world-renowned waffles! After riding the tram down, if waffles were not enough, have lunch at local favorites The Mangey Moose, The Handle Bar, The Spur or the beautiful patio at the Four Seasons.  Your choice...too many to list! After lunch you will head back through Teton National Forest on your way to more adventures in YNP.  First stop…Old Faithful!  Watch the most famous geyser in the world erupt!  Named in 1870, Old Faithful puts on a show every 35-120 minutes every day of the year. 

 

If time allows the next stop will be Gibbons Falls, one of the most spectacular falls in the Park, just north of Madison Junction. And you can stop at The Madison Junction to shop in the YNP store for gifts and goodies before you leave YNP.  Exit YNP at West Yellowstone.  If  you would like to stay in West overnight, a must see is the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center. Browse the numerous shops in West if time allows. 

 

Next stop and your final night is Big Sky, Montana! Arrive in Big Sky late afternoon and check in to your hotel. Relax and enjoy the magnificent views of Lone Peak on the deck of The Summit!  Breathtaking!  Enjoy dinner at one of the many wonderful restaurants at Big Sky Resort.  Your driver will meet you the next day to take you to the airport.

Day Six: Big Sky, Montana

Awake and enjoy a hearty breakfast at The Peaks Restaurant at The Summit.  Head out the deck doors and take a beautiful hike on the Moose Tracks Trail.  Return to the base and load the Swift Current chairlift on your way to the Lone Peak Tram ride to the summit of Lone Peak at 11,100 feet.  On a clear day you can see the Tetons! Your final day depends on flight arrangements out of Bozeman.  If more activities are desired plan to stay two nights at Big Sky Resort. Fly Fishing, hiking and mountain biking are just a few of the many activites in Big Sky! Time permitting have lunch and head to the Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport for departure home!

Rates do not inclue Park Entrance Fees, nightly hotels for guests and guides, meals for guests and guides or guide gratuity. Guide gratuity will be added for a multi day tour at 20% daily. Any side excursions such as the Roosevelt Cookout, Rodeos, Yellowstone Lake Ride, Aerial Tram Rides etc. will be booked and charged in addtion to the daily rate. Accomodations are subject to availability and level of accomodation. Discovery Yellowstone Tours will make all hotel reservation if desired. 

***All Discovery Yellowstone Tours, A Division of Big Sky Shuttle, Inc. are compliant with state and federal regulations and allow no more than 10 hours of drive time per day. Lunch stops, tour stops and any non driving time is not incldued in the 10 hour limit.
